Luna had been gone from pony society for so long that she had to catch up on the current trends as well as learn how to be a good friend; not to mention act normal

with all the other ponies.
Luna had asked Twilight for help, and she gave her a bunch of homework to do, along with many books to read and study about how to be a good normal pony.

Many of the books were helpful, but what had really helped her was when Twilight had last spoken to her during Nightmare night. She had been practicing ever since

then, being sure to remember to speak more softly to all the ponies she conversed with, but she still needed work and so she practiced every night by speaking to a

plant in her room next to the window. The trick was if she managed to speak to the plant without moving a leaf than it was a success.

One night she was speaking to her "friend" as usual when her eyes caught hold of some foals playing in the court yard with a jump-rope. Luna had read in one of the

many books that Twilight had given her that it was important to practice talking to other ponies and not just inanimate objects; she had to learn not only to talk more

softly but to be social as well.

With that in mind, Luna put away her stuff and ran down the stairs and down the hall. She was in such a rush that she hardly noticed the stares of surprise that she got

from the maids when she passed their room, nor did she take heed the shocked expressions of the guards either.
One of the maids tried stop her and ask if she needed any help with anything, but Luna ignored her and continued outside to the court yard.

Outside she saw three unicorns skipping rope, she stopped near them and cleared her throat. "Hello," she said in a quite controlled voice, just as she had practiced.

The three foals stopped skipping rope and each of them bowed down to her.

"So sorry your highness," said the first one,

"We did not mean to disturb you," the other two continued in unison.

"Oh children, that's okay. I just came out to say hello," said the princess with a smile.

Presently one of the maids who had followed her spoke up. "I'm so sorry Princess Luna, I took my children to work with me today and specifically instructed them to

remain with in the maids' quarters. Please forgive me!"

Luna looked at the maid and continued her warm expression. "Oh it's quite alright, I see no harm in a few young foals playing about."

A guard came running up to see what all the commotion was about "Is there a problem, my Princess?"

"Oh I'm so sorry," said the maid to the guard, she had not heard what Luna had said in her panicked state "I would have never done this usually, but my husband is

away on important business."

Luna spoke again, "I already said that it's quite alright my dear"

"NO!" exclaimed one of the guards, "No visitors allowed here on unauthorized terms!"

Suddenly another Guard appeared, arrayed with an even more extravagant set of armor. "Guard, why are you not at your post?" he asked in a stern voice.

The first guard looked at him and saluted "Oh, sorry Captain, but this maid took her children into the palace."

The captain looked at the mother and her three children. "I think I understand what is going on here, the children have disturbed the Princess' lessons with all of their

uproarious yelling."

The guard then turned to look at the mother of the children, "I thought I told you that you could bring your children ONLY if you kept them in the appropriate rooms?"

Luna spoke again, though still trying to keep her voice low and controlled, "No, they where not bothering me." Luna had not yet understood that yelling was appropriate

on occasion. However, yet again, the guards had not heard her speak.

The Captain then turned to the Princess, "I'm so sorry, your Highness. You should not need to come all the way out here just to silence a few little brats."

Suddenly the maid, upon hearing those words spoke up, her expression full of anger "Brats?! How DARE you call my children brats?!"

The first guard interrupted the now enraged mother. "Keep your tone down, peasant mare! You may not yell at the captain like that!"

Luna watched as the chaos unfolded before her eyes. Nopony was listening to her calm reasoning, her desperate attempts to keep the peace. She placed two hooves

firmly into her ears in an attempt to silence the noise around her. Her whole body began to seethe with anger, all of the yelling and discontent building up her temper

until she finally snapped, slamming her hooves into the cobblestone and causing it to crack loudly. "ENOUGH!" She roared.

All the guards stopped what they where doing and bowed down to her, so did the maids, and the children as well, everypony became vary quite, until the children

began to cry and hide behind there mother, they thought she was going to hurt them.

Finally the Captain spoke up "Forgive me your highness, it was my fault", the maid spoke after "No it was mine" and the guard after her, "No, it was my fault".

All the children where still crying behind their mother.

"Silence" said Luna in a slightly lower voice but still enough to invoke fear in the children, even the mighty guards where shaking in there hooves.

Sadly she realised it was now her fault that they where all scared and why the little children where crying, quietly she lowered her own head and shed a single tear.
"I'm sorry-" she said as she turned around and walked back toward the castle, but on her way there she bumped into someone.

Celestia looked down at her sister, Luna looked up at her, Celestia had saw everything, she saw the guards, she saw the children shaking and crying, but Celesta

knew that Kindness could fix everything, she looked over at the guards and the children.

"Guards! please stand up, and maid Honeydew you as well please stand up, and children please don't cry, everything will be ok" than looking back at the guards

"Captain Iron! The children may stay, and play in the courtyard, and you Captain may take a break and you as well Private Brick... Unless that is you do not apologize to

Mr's Honeydew for calling her children that awful word"

Suddenly the Captain of the Guard and the Private both jumped in surprise and turned to Mrs Honeydew "We're both vary sorry ma'am"

Celestia waved them off and looked to Mrs honeydew "You also may go home early and spend the day with your kids".

All the children smiled at the kind Princess "We love you Celestia" they all said gleefully.

Mrs Honeydew gestured to her children "Okay, now children lets go home"

"Okay mom. bye Celestia, we love you" they all said again.

Luna saw how Celestia had handled the whole situation, she was in awe of her sister, she felt as if she could only cause problems, she felt she would never be like

Celestia

When all the other ponies had left, Celesta went to leave but stopped and looked at her sister with disapproval, she walked past her and told her that she would like to

speak with her in her chambers.

Luna felt uneasy but went to her sisters chambers none the less.
Celestia was there reading a few papers, some scrolls and books where laid out on her table,
Luna felt like it was not vary clean but some how more organized at the same time, she knew that her sister was vary busy most of the time, and it made her feel even

worse knowing that she had to make her sister stop all her important work just for her, and that Celestia still had to do all the work by herself, and it was all because she

had been gone on the moon for such a long time.

"Tia" said Luna quietly "You wanted to talk to me?"

Celestia put her book down and gave her sister with a worried look,
"My dear sweet Luna, you are having such a hard time adjusting".

Luna kept silent.

Celestia gave a slight smile "Oh Luna, you've changed a lot little sister"
"NO!" said Luna interrupting "You've changed a lot!... I didn't I'm still the same..."
"I remember that you had so many toys in your room, but now it's filled with..." Luna gestured to the whole room "With tax documents, bills! and all kinds of important

stuff" Luna's eye's where red with tears that she refused to let fall.
"I should be a part of this, but I'm still a foal!"

Celestia looked sad, "Luna . . . I'm very sorry-"

"You should not feel sorry for me!" cried Luna as tears began to fill her eyes "I'm the one that became Nightmare Moon, I'm the reason you had to take care of the

kingdom by yourself for a thousand years! I'm the one that makes all the children cry..." Luna began sobbing

Celesta went to her sister and wrapped her wings around her. "My dear sister... What do you need to make yourself feel better?" she asked.

Luna was more quite now "I dont know, I want to be loved by other ponies, I want them to love me the way they love you... I want to have a friend"

Celestia let her sister go and walked back to the table "Friends?" she asked "Friends are a burden"

Luna began to cry again "Why do you keep saying that? You don't want me to have a friend: It's not fair!"

"Enough!" Luna trembled when Celestia yelled at her like that.
"Luna I'm sorry I yelled at you like that," Celestia lowered her head, "But I already told you that you can't have any friends"

Luna was distraught "But why? Please tell me why."

Celestia sigh audibly "Come . . .Let me show you something"

Luna followed her sister to another chamber that had been built while she had been gone on the moon, Luna did not remember this chamber " I don't Remember this

hall room" said Luna.

"I made some changes while you where gone" replied her sister.
The room was dark and it was hard for both of them to see, Luna spoke up "I still don't understand where this is going, why are we here?"

Silently Celestia illuminated the room with her magic, a few candles on a table in the room flared to life, lighting up a small picture on it.
"Remember him?" asked Celestia
Luna smiled in recollection of one of her best friends "I remember him, he was a royal knight. We used to play together all the time, he was one of my best friends"

than her face took on a more somber look . . ."But that was before I became Nightmare Moon"
Luna was quite for a time "What happened to him?"

Celestia took a deep breath and prepared herself for telling her beloved sister what she knew she had to "Luna... He died a long time ago, he lived to be 85"

Luna became quite lost in her thoughts, but finally she spoke up "So, this is the reason? You wont let me have any friends just because you lost so man? But that is just

one, you still have other friends" but even as Luna spoke she feared for the truth.

Celestia only nodded as her horn glowed again lighting the other candles in the room.
"He... Was not my only friend"
"Huh?" said Luna confused, she remembered that Celestia had many friends.

Luna could now see the walls where lined with many pictures, some of ponies she remembered and others new to her, each one was a dear friend to her or Celestia,

there where more than 500 pictures in all, some had more than one pony in them, some had six, others less. but one on the far wall surprised her the most, it was a

picture of Twilight Sparkle and her friends, Rainbow dash, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and even Spike, it had not a candle yet but it was still there just the

same.

Luna refused to believe what she was seeing, her eyes filled with tears as she realized what it meant.

Celestia began to sob, her own tears joining her sisters, her own sadness reflecting Luna's, "You see..." Celestia sobbed. "Having friends is a burden..."

Luna turned around to see her sister laying on the floor crying "Tia, you suffer to much more than me..."

Celestia began, still sobbing, "Do you understand now Luna? This..." Celestia was sobbing harder, "This is the curse of immortality, in the end all friends do... Is die..."

I know this is a fairly old fan-fic, but I am going to ask anyway: Is there even a tiny chance of part 2 being made? Seriously, this is amazing and I would like to read some more. I dont give damm about grammar or splitted sentences. Writing is about creating a story and that you did very well.

Actually, the reason I am writting this comment is because I browsed trough your profile and quite liked the pictures as well as fan-fics, but then I saw the incredible shitstorm of people making fun of you and insulting the your work and so on. You see, I have been drawing for like 3 years or so and recently I even started writting a fan-fic, but I have never shown any of my works to other people (except my relatives and friends), because I just dont want to face the thing you are dealing with, hordes of perfectionists and people who just dont like your work. I always believed DeviantArt to be an awesome community where you can post art and enjoy art without people insulting each-other. I thought that when people dislike something, they just go look up some other art they like (unless the artist asks for critique, of course), but man, was I wrong. I would still like to post at least some of my work, because my friends and relatives say they are good, but yeah, just reading the comments on your profile was enough to crush my enthusiasm.

So I would also like to ask you, is it worth all the nasty stuff people are unloading into your comments?

Thank you
